Author Interview
I also asked her some questions about herself and her writing to help us get to know her better.
What do you love most about writing?
I love the ability to explore human emotions and experiences in ways that are both imaginative and relatable. Writing allows me to create worlds where characters can grow, struggle, and discover themselves — whether it’s a historical figure like Margaret of Valois in Queen Margot or a young girl and a polar cub finding courage in Polaris. There’s a quiet magic in shaping a story that can resonate deeply with readers of all ages.
What do you think readers will love about your books?
Readers often tell me they connect with the emotional journeys of my characters. In Polaris, for example, children and adults alike can see themes of friendship, courage, and self-discovery reflected in the story. In Polaris, a bullied girl and a lost polar cub journey across icy landscapes, guided by their North Star – Polaris to meet their dreams. Along the way, they discover courage, friendship, and the power of following actually ,themselves’ .” It’s a story of self-discovery and adventure that encourages readers to trust their own path. self-discovery, You are reminded that even in uncertain or difficult times, following your own North Star can help you find not just your dream and way, but your self-discovery
Are you currently working on any new books or writing projects?
Yes, I’m always exploring new stories. I am not developing my next book, but I have been asked for couple of lyrics to deliver. That’s exciting change. I’m working on several cross-disciplinary projects that combine writing with visual storytelling, reflecting my experience in film and documentaries. These projects allow me to experiment with narrative, imagery, and sound in creative ways that complement traditional storytelling. We have three documentaries out this year, all history and I am very excited about the indie movie addressing the intergenerational bond, dementia. I hope we will start filming in late autumn and it will be fun for two weeks. It is very conversational drama with couple of characters, located to the small place.

IMDb profile: Marketa B. Linden W.
I do not have any personal social media for over the decade, after releasing my debut book Queen Margot, when I have been cruelly bullied and harassed by one weird NHL fan girl (I was NHL commentator, also a sport journalist since my teens) who has never met me and created very false fabrications and accusations about myself, targeting me with more than 200 abusive tweets more than decade ago. Her Twitter account was closed down, but she has found me also on Instagram and posted online. I had enough, I was very happy back in 2015 and I just took my life offline. Almost for a decade, with a new book out. Maybe it is coincidence, maybe I grew up. I also re-release my old nu jazz single from 2007. I wrote the lyrics and made the music arrangements, it is called Life Is Confidence and I think it sums up my intention after the hiatus as well as closing one chapter of my life with happy ending and finishing certain creative process. I am also IT CEO now, with my favourite creative outlets, but I do not think I will be on the social media again.
Do you have a favorite book or author?
I don’t have one particular favourite author or the book. I’m drawn to authors who tell strong, timeless stories, fiction or factual — books that stay with you because the message is clear and hones, gives you something extra to learn, experience, or think about. I admire writers who keep storytelling simple, powerful, and real.
