Holy Rhyme Scheme: How I Met Jesus

by Sir Cadence Rhymez

Here’s a fun and thoughtful children’s rhyme book that follows a young person’s journey of meeting Jesus. I was happy to get a review copy of this book to check out for myself and I’m going to tell you why I enjoyed it in this spoiler-free review.

In this heartfelt story, the child begins with little to no understanding of who Jesus is, but becomes more interested as a pastor explains the concepts of God’s love, faith, and salvation. But it is all brought to life with colorful illustrations and rhythmic lyrical words written specifically for a young audience.

This is a book that parents or caregivers can enjoy reading with their child. It’s also a great way to introduce or reinforce concepts of Christian faith to a young reader. The book says:

“I sat and I wondered who could He be? Would He really save a small person like me? A man from the podium said, “Come look and see! Oh, how great is the Lord! He parted the sea!”

The pastor goes on to talk about other miracles of Jesus, such as turning water into wine, making a shepherd a king, helping the poor, and saving his people. Our main character wonders, “Why would He help me?” and the pastor explains how Jesus doesn’t just help “special” people like the big stories in the Bible.

The child wonders why he would deserve the same love and the same miracles. But the pastor explains that God’s love isn’t measured in numbers or deeds, money or fame, and that if you need Him, all you have to do is call His name.

Sound simple?

Well, that’s the point!

The book goes on to show how easy it is to call on Jesus anytime, anywhere, any place… all you have to do is believe and receive. And our main character talks about how he wants to turn away from negativity, anger, and war. That Jesus can lead you to peace, happiness, positivity, and generosity.

Holy Rhyme Scheme: How I Met Jesus also makes a perfect book for Easter! Add it to an Easter basket, give it as a gift, or read it together with your young one. It could also be read in Sunday School classrooms.

In short, it’s a story about how a child met Jesus after they started going to church. But it’s more than that for children who are seeking to learn more about their faith, or see themselves represented better on the pages of a book about Jesus.

You can get it for yourself on Amazon in paperback, Kindle, or Kindle Unlimited.
