99% of Your Being: A Transformative Journey to Your True Self

by Susanna Eun
In a culture obsessed with “fixing” ourselves—biohacking, self-improvement, ongoing optimization—Susanna Eun presents a new, almost radical perspective: you’re already whole. The tranquility you’ve been seeking lies within of you, silently waiting beneath the cacophony of the nervous 1% that controls the situation, not in the next objective, retreat, or affirmation.
As many of you know, I read a lot of self-help style books, so this was right up my alley, and I was very excited to dive into a review copy. I can’t wait to tell you more about it, but I first want to say that this is not your typical “self help” book. It’s not here to give you a much of instructions about what you need to change – but rather to remind you of who you already are.
99% of Your Being encourages readers to go into that expansive inner realm. She makes difficult spiritual concepts incredibly approachable by fusing the pragmatism of holistic health and mindfulness with the clarity of non-dual teachings. Every chapter invites you to stop, take a deep breath, and pay attention to the silence that you have probably been ignoring throughout your life.
There are 11 chapters in all, including an introduction and some words to wrap it up at the end. These chapters are an excellent way to see what lessons or ideas you will be learning in that section. For example, it starts with asking you how much you know about yourself – and then your body, your mind, and your spirit.
From there, it goes into this concept of “99% of your being”, explaining what it is, where it is, and how you can find it for yourself. She even explains how you will feel the presence, and helps you prepare for obstacles that will inevitably happen.
What makes this book so striking is its simplicity. Eun use relevant examples, guided meditations, and a caring tone that makes it feel like you’re sitting down with a wise friend who sincerely wants you to achieve peace rather than overloading readers with jargon or demanding blind belief. The “99% method” turns becomes a way of life—an encouragement to repeatedly go back to the awareness that lies underneath emotion and thought.
You will seriously change the way you look at yourself and the world around you, and the way you move within that world. Chapter 9 talks about anxiety, forgiveness and letting go, self-love, your purpose in life, navigating relationships, and even parenting and fear of death.
Eun’s message is continuous throughout the book: we are more than the little, scared brains we associate with.
We are limitless, conscious, and alive – consciousness itself. Her combination of holistic health and Buddhist knowledge lends this work a practical foundation as well as spiritual depth. Through sharing their own transformations – overcoming fear, rediscovering self-compassion, and even healing physical pain – readers provide evidence that this is embodied truth rather than abstract philosophy.
99% of Your Being is refreshing for people tired of the never-ending self-help rut. Remembering is more important than striving. Being is more important than doing.
Final Thoughts
Susanna Eun has created a unique and enlightening manual that meets you right where you are and offers a door to something much more. It is well worded, serene, and clear.
99% of Your Being is the reminder you didn’t realize you needed: serenity isn’t found – it’s unearthed, regardless of your level of spiritual practice or your desire to find calm in the midst of stress.
Verdict: ★★★★★
A very nourishing, caring, and useful manual for bringing out the 99% of yourself that has been waiting all along—the 99% that is light, consciousness, and life itself.
