A second chance romance has an allure that is hard to resist, particularly when it takes place in a little town that is full of heart, gossip, and just the perfect amount of mayhem. This is why I was so excited to get a review copy of this novella that begins a series with eight books.

The Saving Madison, Texas series begins with a charming, humorous, and sultry short tale called “Save the Date” by Laura Finger. It’s a brief but enjoyable read of less than 14,000 words, demonstrating that sometimes the greatest love stories don’t require hundreds of pages to make an impact.

I was honestly hooked on page one, and I love how it quickly dives into the story and then delivers a hot second-chance romance without any fluff or filler. So, what’s it all about? Let’s dive into my spoiler-free review.

The community center represents home, belonging, and second chances and is more than just a background. Beyond the romance, the plot is tense due to the impending danger of a greedy developer, which raises the stakes for the community and the characters.

There is no denying the chemistry between Jake and Maya. Their explosive reunion keeps the pages going, and their common past lends dimension to their interactions. Laura Finger doesn’t hold back either; this is a heartfelt and hot short novella that demonstrates that second chances may be just as exciting as first loves.

What’s even more amazing is that this is just the beginning. Readers can anticipate more Madison, Texas romances full of love, comedy, and the kind of small-town intrigue that makes tales like these unforgettable because Save the Date is the first novel in an eight-part series.
