The Mighty Chronicles: Reckless Roads – Book Review

by Elias Garcia
I was so excited to get an advanced reader copy (ARC) of the upcoming title, The Mighty Chronicles: Reckless Roads. This is the second book in The Mighty Chronicles Saga by Elias Garcia. It’s currently available for preorder on Amazon with a release date of November 23, 2025. Upon release, it will also be available on Kindle Unlimited.
If you’re new to the series, you can read the first book, Rise of Heroes while you wait for the release of this next edition. That said, let’s get into my spoiler-free review!
The story starts off with Previously on the Mighty Chronicles to help refresh you on what happened in the first episode. From there, we have 35 chapters broken down nicely to make it easy to move through them or to have a good stopping point if you have to take a reading break.
Each chapter has a unique title that gives you a little sneak peek into what the chapter will be about, and personally, I really love seeing that in books.
Following the gripping beginning of The Rise of Heroes, readers are brought back together with brothers Hudson, Ethan, and Charles, as well as their sage and strong mentor, Avalor, as they confront their greatest threat to date: a mysterious cult with evil plans for Twilight City.
Garcia establishes right away that his goal is to raise the standard, not provide a straightforward sequel. Both the tale and the characters we came to love in Book One have grown up. Hudson is given genuine emotional weight as he assumes the roles of both team leader and family leader. His battle to keep his family and the city safe gives the story depth and helps to anchor the heroic aspects in something human and real.
The action scenes pulsate with adrenaline due to Garcia’s fast-paced, cinematic storytelling, which never compromises character development. The calmer moments – the choices made under duress, the sibling chats, the inner doubts – are what really make this book stand out, even while the action sequences are thrilling.
This episode gives Ethan and Charles more space to develop, and their distinct personalities provide the team dynamic heart and balance. Meanwhile, Avalor remains the constant guiding force, offering insight and advice without overshadowing the brothers’ respective storylines.
I won’t spoil it, but the conclusion brings a tremendous payout and foreshadows even more developments in this ongoing saga. You’ll be just as excited as I am to see where it goes next.
Reckless Roads is a gripping superhero saga that will keep you on the edge of your seat, turning the pages long into the day or night, eager to see what happens next.
Elias Garcia keeps writing stories that are both action-packed and emotionally impactful. This book is a must-read regardless of whether you’ve always been a superhero fan or you just enjoy bravery and family-oriented tales.
The book is dedicated “to the greatest older brother of all time”, which I also really appreciated. The author is an autistic man from New Jersey and I enjoyed that little fun fact because I am autistic myself and I used to live in New Jersey.
Garcia also says, “I want people to know that it is never too late to purse your passion. Every time you say you can’t do it, ignore that voice and persevere.” And that’s advice that I think we can all use.
