I love this series so much. I had been looking forward to reading the 2nd installment and Black Mike did not disappoint. He crafts a sticky web of suspense and supernatural drama in this second book of the Archangel Fantasy Thriller Series. We see our main characters struggle with real-life battles as well as those of a supernatural nature. It’s a perfect blend of dark urban fantasy and adrenaline-pumping action that I love so much from this author. Stayed up late reading it. I had to know what happens next!
This is such an exciting and engaging read. The inner turmoil and challenges the main characters, Michael and Sara, face drive the story forward, keeping you guessing and also rooting for them. Our half-angel Michael faces entanglements with his identity as well as local gangs and archdemon forces.
We see Sara evolve from a mere mortal to a being of power, not without her own challenges to meet as well. We see the many layers and dimensions to both of these characters, as well as the dynamic between the two of them, which is presented with such authenticity, you’ll feel like you know them both intimately.
The book is descriptive, painting a picture in your mind of dark alleyways and ethereal realms, and the world-building is magnificent. Black Mike spares no details and truly makes you feel as if you are inside his world.
To sum it up, “The Book of Sathanas” is an exhilarating continuation to the ARCHANGEL series, meticulously charting Michael and Sara’s adventures in a world where the dichotomy of good and evil isn’t always clear-cut. A definite must-read for those in search of an urban fantasy that challenges as much as it entertains. Highly recommended indeed!
