The Rainbow Circle Book Review

A Gripping Mystery Worth Your Time
by R.M Stephens
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Rainbow Circle is the first book in a new series from Stephens and I was intrigued by the book description and excited to get a review copy to experience for myself. As always, I am happy to tell you about this book and what I thought of it in my spoiler-free review below.
From the very first sentence, we are launched into Nathan’s world. The writing is fresh, action-oriented and designed to pull you in. There are 24 chapters in all, and each is formatted in a way to make it easier to read, help the story flow naturally, and gives you nice, natural stopping points if you need to take a break from reading.
Although you won’t want to because this is a real page-turner. I found myself anxious to find out what was going to happen next. Nathan is a compelling main character.
Nathan’s world is turned upside down when he wakes with a head injury, no memory, and only a crumpled reservation slip as a clue. His quest to uncover who attacked him – and why – propels him into a dangerous territory and a journey like nothing he ever could have expected.
World-building and background is well done, immersing us into the story and in the world that Nathan is also experiencing. The dialogue reads naturally and doesn’t pull you out of the story or seem stilted or awkward.
The mystery unfolds, a little at a time, at the perfect pacing. As Nathan is learning himself what is going on, we’re right there at his side. I really enjoyed it and didn’t find it overly predictable. But the suspense will keep you on the edge of your seat until the wonderful conclusion.
