Don’t Do This: A Guide to Business Survival – Book Review

Although launching a business is thrilling, there are several possible hazards that could ruin even the greatest plans. Furkat Kasimov’s Don’t Do This: A Guide to Business Survival is a must-read for anyone hoping to confidently traverse the entrepreneurial terrain. Although I have been running my own business for more than two decades now, I was really excited to read this book. And I will say, it did not disappoint.
I wish I had this back when I first started my business, and especially during those early years. Even now, I find much of the information very helpful. It begins with a powerful introduction and the detailed Table of Contents will also show you what each chapter covers. This is great for seeing what you’re getting into at the start, and also for coming back to later.
Personally, I like to read a book like this cover-to-cover the first time, and then after that I will come to it again and again to re-read certain chapters or sections. The set-up of this book will make it so easy to do that!
Kasimov adopts a refreshingly straightforward and realistic stance, providing a road map for avoiding the crucial errors that have brought down innumerable endeavors. This handbook reverses the script and emphasizes what not to do, in contrast to standard business manuals that only address what to do. This is because, in certain situations, avoiding mistakes is just as crucial as making the correct ones.
Chapter 1 talks about mistakes that shut down businesses and goes into really important topics like cash flow problems, over-using credit and failing to monitor your expenses. Chapter 2 talks about mistakes in leadership and management such as failing to delegate, common hiring issues, and communication problems.
Don’t Do This offers a thorough examination of financial errors, leadership lapses, and marketing disasters that have the power to make or ruin a company, supported by close to 150 real-world examples. I love how it takes each concept and shows us with a practical example so we can best understand it, regardless of your type of learning style.
It’s engaging and fun to read, making it easier to absorb the wealth of information provided within. With its wealth of practical guidance, the book is a vital tool for managers trying to improve their tactics, seasoned business owners, and new company owners. It has chapters devoted to financial management, marketing and sales, operations and scalability and human resources management.
The book’s accessibility is one of its best features. Kasimov presents information in a clear-cut, direct manner that simplifies difficult business ideas. The lessons in this guide will help you avoid costly mistakes and develop a strong foundation for your business, whether you’re just starting out or wanting to improve an existing one. And it’s so packed with info, I can’t even begin to list it all here.
The abundance of materials offered for individuals who wish to go deeper into the subjects discussed is another noteworthy aspect. The book is thorough and interesting, and it doesn’t exclude any important content, providing readers with the skills and information they need to be successful. If you have any business guide this year, I’d make it this one!
Don’t Do This: A Guide to Business Survival is the book for you if you want to position yourself for success while also learning from other people’s failures. You don’t have to make the same mistakes. It is a game-changer for everyone who is serious about making their business succeed because it is full of practical advice. Learn from other people’s experiences as well as your own, and steer clear of any problems before they arise.
The author is an American entrepreneur, digital technology expert, and angel investor with over two decades of experience in building and scaling successful businesses. It’s like having your own personal mentor sitting right there with you to guide you on your own business journey. In 2011, Kasimov co-founded LeadsMarket.com, an advertising technology company that I grew from a startup to nearly $100 million in annual revenue without any external funding.
It’s 5 glowing stars from me!
Don’t Do This is available on Amazon in paperback and Kindle editions. It would also make a great gift idea for a business person on your list.
