Nate Franchesco – Author Spotlight

Nate Franchesco is a Los Angeles–based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and lifelong musician with over 30 plus years of experience. Known for his cross-genre versatility and “Genre Assassin” approach to music, he brings a deep reflective perspective to creativity, discipline, and artistic purpose. The Spiritual Discipline of a Musician is his first published written work, released as a free digital PDF to inspire developing artists and musicians. Nate continues to create, record, and share music independently.
I asked Nate a few questions to help us get to know him and his writing better. See that interview here:
What do you love most about writing?
What I enjoy most about writing is the ability to slow everything down and translate the inner world of a musician into language. Music is usually my voice, but writing lets me articulate the mindset, discipline, and spiritual side behind the craft in a way that notes alone can’t.
What do you think readers will love about your book?
I think readers—especially creative people—will appreciate that The Spiritual Discipline of a Musician is honest, grounded, and written from decades of real experience. It isn’t a typical “technique” book. It’s more reflective, philosophical, and meant to reconnect artists with purpose, mastery, and their own inner compass.
Are you currently working on any new books or writing projects?
I’m not focused on becoming a full-time author, but I do plan to release small reflective pieces in the future whenever inspiration strikes. My main lane will always be music, but writing gives me another tool to encourage and inspire artists.

Do you have a favorite book or author?
I’ve always connected with writers who explore creativity and inner discipline. Authors like Steven Pressfield (The War of Art) and Rick Rubin (The Creative Act) resonate with me because they capture the deeper, almost spiritual side of artistry.
As a writer who also loves music, I’m so excited to introduce you to Nate and I hope you’ll go check out his work!
