JoAnn Wagner – Author Interview

What do you love most about writing?

How I focus more and get lost in my characters and build what comes next for them. As I have gotten older, my focus sometimes tends to wander, and writing keeps me on track. So it makes me focus more.
I also love meeting other authors and interacting with them. And of course, I love meeting new readers.

What do you think readers will love about your books?

My young readers will love traveling with Sir Pigglesworth and learning about other countries and cities. They will love his fun antics and they will look forward to seeing what he gets into next. Their parents will love that my books keep their kids occupied and that they can have fun at the same time they are learning.

Are you currently working on any new books or writing projects?

I have just launched Book 9 – Sir Pigglesworth Flying High at the Balloon Festival. So we’re busy promoting and marketing that book. Book 10 (Sir Pigglesworth and the Great Crown Jewels Caper) is written and still with my illustrator getting set for release in 2024. Just finished Book 11 (Sir Pigglesworth Goes to Space Camp) and it is ready to go to my illustrator. It will be released in early 2025.

Books 12 and 13 are in the very early planning stages.

Do you have a favorite book or author?

I have two favorite authors: Stephen King and Jeffrey Archer. I have read every single book these authors have written…some more than once!
