I am really loving the Sir Pigglesworth series so far! These are wonderful children’s books that also help teach the reader about different locations around the world. This one – book 3 – is all about New York City. I love NYC! I lived for a number of years in New Jersey, just a 30 minute train ride from the Big Apple and I have some very fond memories of my time spent there.
It was also very fun reading about Sir Pigglesworth’s time there.

About the Author
The “Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventure Series” was born when JoAnn’s church gave out a flying pig stress ball for the congregation to take around over the summer and post pictures on Facebook.
Everywhere she went people smiled and laughed, and were excited to have their picture taken with Sir Pigglesworth, as she dubbed the pig. The idea blossomed until it became clear that Sir Pigglesworth’s adventures needed to be shared with children around the world.
JoAnn does book readings at schools, libraries and churches. Since kids like to get ‘stuff’, JoAnn gives them custom made Sir Pigglesworth bookmarks that are written in English on one side and Spanish on the other, and “I Love to Read” stickers.

Luckily for the plucky piglet, it was just before Thanksgiving, and he’d get to see the famous Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Little did he or JoAnn know, however, that he’d actually play a major role in the parade himself! JoAnn Wagner and Sara Dean’s educational adventure storybook for children, Sir Pigglesworth’s Adventures in New York City, is festive and bright at times, and at other times injects a more serious note as they visit the 911 Museum and Ellis Island. Seeing Sir Pigglesworth transformed into one of the parade floats is priceless, and the exploits this rascally little pig gets up to are endlessly creative and funny. David Darchicourt’s illustrations are colorful and work so well with the story. He adds so much dimension to Sir Pigglesworth’s character with the wide range of facial expressions he gives the young pig.
